Hello, we are Kevin and Jessica Oates from Southern California. God has planted in our hearts a desire to spread His name and the story of Jesus Christ throughout the world in response to the great love He has shown us personally in saving us and loving us immeasurably.
When we first met 15 years ago, one of the things we had in common was our desire to go to the foreign mission field. During the early years of our marriage, Kevin completed his studies at the Master’s Seminary and received Master’s of Divinity and Master’s of Theology degrees, while Jessica became a licensed Registered Nurse and spent 2+ years working in Labor and Delivery. During this time, Kevin and Jessica were serving at Cornerstone Community Church in Simi Valley, California, under Pastor Francis Chan. While there, Kevin initiated and directed Cornerstone’s missions program and soon afterwards, he started and directed the Bible institute. God used all of these experiences to prepare both of usfor the mission field. We just spent 5 years in Lima, Peru, training Peruvian pastors and doing evangelistic medical work among the poor. We are now on our way to Honduras to continue our missions ministries.
So many of the people have never heard of Jesus Christ, and there is one absolutely necessary component that we lack: that is people. We need more people. People who know Christ and can share the message of salvation. The opportunities for ministry are endless and every gift, ability and talent can be used! We have clearly seen that God IS working to bring the Gospel to every tribe, tongue, people and nation. The Great Commission IS close to being fulfilled. We are very excited to have a part in fulfilling it and priviledged to be able to give ourselves for this. So far, it has been quite an adventure, but as we go forward, we realize it is just beginning!

Although Kevin grew up going to a Christian church, his life was no different from any of his unbelieving friends. He says, "It wasn't until my senior year in High School that the Lord made it very clear to me that if I were to die that day, I was not going to Heaven but to Hell. Although I had heard the Gospel many times, this time it became real to me and my life immediately changed." Kevin attended The Master's College and then The Master's Seminary in Southern California earning the Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees. It was during this time that he became burdened to provide pastoral training to those who could not get it. "My desire is to teach and train pastors, church leaders, and lay people in other countries so that they can more effectively reach their own people with the Gospel and grow God's church."

Jessica grew up in Southern California, the oldest of 7 children. At a very young age, God made Himself real to her. She says, "I realized that I deserved to go to Hell and that God had every reason to fairly send me there because of my sin. The good news is that God is merciful and loving. My eyes were opened to the fact that Jesus died an undeserving & gruesome death upon a cross to save ME. God gave me a gift then--the faith to believe this that this story is the Truth...and then He saved me." Jessica went on to become a Registered Nurse, specializing in Labor & Delivery. "Christ's gift of salvation is available to everybody, but not everybody knows about it. Because of this, I have committed myself to sharing this message by offering myself in whatever way I can to care for people medically. Because God loves His people, I trust that many will be blessed physically as well as spiritually."

Kylie Christann was born in Peru in 2005 and is a beautiful, lively 6-year-old who loves most everything. She especially loves cuddling with doggies and kitties and dreams of the day she will be handed a beautifully wrapped box with her own little kitten inside. She loves school and learning, making new friends, swimming, and pretty dresses. Her favorite movie is "Tangled", her favorite food is a Peruvian empanada, and her favorite "toy" is her (male) cat, Princess.

Braden is a wonderful, sweet & rambunctious 4-year-old boy and is a fair, blue-eyed Peruvian-American like his sister. He loves ships, cannonballs, masts, harpoons, anchors, crow's nests, the Cutty Sark, eye patches & peg legs. His favorite Bible story is Jonah (because Jonah traveled on a boat!); his favorite movie is "Peter Pan", and his favorite toy is, of course, his fleet of pirate ships. And his cat who is named...Pirate.

Tyler is the cutest chunk ever seen and could easily be the next Gerber baby. Born in Northridge, California, in 2008, this curly-headed boy is now 3 years old and full of amazing smiles, bubbling laughs, and warm snuggles. He loves to play with cars, watch "Cars", go to Target to look at cars, and dreams of the day he will drive a his own car. His favorite toy is his Lightening McQueen car. He loves chocolate, pursues whipped cream with a passion and loves "cheeseboogers".

Medical Evangelism
Jessica's ministerial focus is bringing medical care and the Gospel to the poor slums of the city, to those who do not receive quality care. This is carried out mainly through a stationary medical clinic founded by a Christian church in Honduras. Jessica uses her training in Labor & Delivery and prenatal ultrasound to minister to pregnant women and also participates in mobile clinics which bring medical care & the Gospel to those people groups outside of the city or in the mountains. Showing love through meeting physical needs is an amazing and effective way to introduce people to the love of the Savior, Jesus Christ!
Pastoral Training
Kevin's focus is training those who are already pastors and those who desire to be pastors and church leaders. He teaches Greek and theology courses to men from Honduras, El Salvador & Guatemala who come to our center for training. The training is done in short, 2 week intensive module courses and pastoral conferences are offered once a month. Kevin desires to also take this training into the surrounding areas to the more unreached people groups.
